Flames of War is Battlefront Miniatures brand of miniature wargames. They are historically based, and thus it is possible to recreate famous battles. The miniatures are in 15mm scale, which is common amongst historical rulesets, but is a departure from the 'standard' 28mm miniatures that are prevalent in other games. Their rules are somewhat similar to Warhammer 40k 3rd edition, and Battlefront was able to bridge the gap from historicals to popular wargame. Their first series of books take place in World War II and were enormously successful. The early, mid and late war of the European theatre are all covered. They then expanded to include Vietnam. This era was not as popular due to the type of combat, which did not make for as good gameplay. Battlefront has now expanded to include the Asian theatre of WWII as well as WWI. |
