Virtual Toy Chest's
Mr. Machine Archive

Mr. Machine was first released by Ideal in 1960. He was a large roughly humanoid robot with a top hat. He has cast in red plastic. If you wound up the metal key on his back he would roll along and move his arms and legs. He would also open his mouth and hake a squawking sound and ring a bell. He came with a wrench and could be taken apart. In 1978 he was reworked and released. The new version could no longer be disassembeled, and instead of squawking, it played a song.

A similar toy was released in 1950s called Mego Man. It was made out of tin.
