In the days before micro radio control vehicles the best thing since sliced bread was Record Breakers World of Speed. They were brought to the states from Japan by Hasbro in 1989. Ban Dai, Tamyia, and Mattel released their own micro racers. Hasbro organized races at malls all across the country. Some of these events were even televised. A whole bunch of cars and accessories were available. The biggest item in the line was the figure 8 track. There were many different types of tires and wheels. Some of these included foam tires, racing slicks, off road dirt tires, chrome wheels, and clutch wheels. |
