The Tyco Turbo Hopper was the best selling radio control car of the 1980s. This was in part due to its 9.6 volt turbo power, and rc buggy style. It performed better than many other ready to run rc cars, but that is not saying much. Unfortunately Turbo Hoppers did not stand up to the abuse of off road racing, and many of them were destroyed in action. The Turbo Hopper was the basis of many other Tyco products. These included a Turbo Hopper Slot Car set, Aero Turbo Hopper, and Baja Bandit truck. |
